Inspired by a party game for creative geeks, I designed “There Once Was” as a mobile-first party game where friends can write a one-of-a-kind story while competing for literary domination. I took the product from idea stage through a paper prototype, completing user interviews, building a competitive analysis and designi.

This Webby-nominated clickable YouTube video used the platform’s then-newly-developed (and now deceased) hot spot feature to turn a normal video into an interactive playground complete with multiple rooms, music videos, and a whole basket of easter eggs.

We invited the audience to bring the worst gift they got for the holidays and battle for a better one. Guests channeled their inner Michael Scott and Yankee Swapped their gifts in a series of increasingly outrageous competitions. And I made some stupid content to go along with it.

The winner ended up with a full-sized disco ball.
